Job Description
Job Title: Financial Administrator
Working Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Work Location: Dakar, Senegal (Frequent travel to areas of operation)
Employment Period: 12 months (renewable annually)
Desired Job Price: Starting April 1, 2025
The Ndem Villagers’ Association’s mission is to support local populations in a process of endogenous and sustainable development, in order to improve their living conditions while ensuring the maintenance of community and socio-environmental balances. For over 30 years, it has been implementing socio-economic activities and structures that provide access to healthcare, education, drinking water, renewable energy, and microinsurance. The AVN also works to create rural jobs in agroecology, food processing, and crafts to combat the chronic rural exodus from the region.
As part of the expansion of its activities and its internal restructuring, the AVN is seeking to recruit a competent financial administrator who shares the organization’s values.
Position
The Financial Administrator performs their duties under the responsibility of the General Coordinator. They are responsible for managing financial resources and budgets, as well as training and informing all staff involved in AVN’s financial activities. They are also responsible for all administrative tasks, including preparing and maintaining accounting records. They record and process information related to financial transactions. They collect, classify, and analyze, as appropriate, numerical information to optimize or forecast the NGO’s management, and prepare income statements and balance sheets.
Responsibilities : Ndem Villagers’ NGO
- Management of all administrative and financial tasks
- Accounting management
- Preparation of the annual budget and the strategic budget
- Ensure strict compliance with the administrative and financial procedures manual
- Management of payments, cash flows, and interactions with the bank
- Co-validation of project operational budgets
- Preparation of internal reports (monthly and quarterly), institutional reports (donors), and reports for the public administration
- Supervision and support of AVN accountants to harmonize the organization’s financial management
- Training of the entire team on the required financial standards
- Organization and facilitation of external audits (accounting firms, external consultants)
- Control of staff contracts and all other forms of contracts binding AVN to an organization
- Ensure the eligibility of expenses incurred in relation to the criteria required by donors
- Collect, classify, and maintain supporting documents documenting expenses Perform any other administrative or financial tasks assigned by the general coordinator.
- Maintain and update AVN equipment inventories.
Candidate Profile
- Advanced degree in Management or Finance.
- Good knowledge of how international donors operate.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in cost accounting.
- Ability to create and monitor a budget, interpret a balance sheet and income statement.
- Perfect proficiency in computer tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Perfect proficiency in at least one accounting software program.
- Transparency, precision, speed, organization, accountability, initiative, open-mindedness, good external communication, and rigor in work.
Salary: 625,000 FCFA gross monthly.
